Hard bridge sleeves from MECA provide imprint flexibility

MECA Solutions excels in custom manufacturing of hard bridge sleeves

Hard bridge sleeves provide flexographic printers with the quick-change flexibility they need to improve productivity and minimize expense. MECA Solutions, LLC supplies its customers with standard as well as custom sleeves manufactured to precise specifications for optimal results.

The carbon fiber construction of MECA’s hard bridge sleeves ensures superior strength-to-weight and stiffness-to-weight ratios that provide ideal operational properties. Carbon fiber offers exceptional vibration absorption that allow printers to maintain speed without sacrificing quality.

“Hard bridge sleeves made from carbon fiber are resistant to corrosion and chemicals, and more importantly have a very low coefficient of thermal expansion,” explains Tim Olson, sales manager at MECA. “This is especially important with today’s heat-generating presses. Our hard bridge sleeves retain their shape under virtually any condition.”

Hard bridge sleeves reduce make-ready times

MECA’s sleeves quickly slide on top of mandrels and provide a solid base for plate sleeves, enabling printers to adjust imprint diameters without undue production delays.

Sleeves are specifically designed for each press so operators can make a mandrel multiple BCD (bolt circle diameter) sizes larger. This produces cost savings compared to using hard flexographic printing sleeves alone to make those adjustments as the thinner the plate sleeve, the greater the cost savings.

“One of the challenges printers can face when it comes to sleeves is weight restrictions,” Olson notes. “MECA is able to meet most weight requirements through a manufacturing process that can isolate those variables. Let us know your weight requirements and we can provide a quote for hard bridge sleeves.”
